If it comes off as a result of an unusual event, for example due to poor surface preparation or contamination of the adhesive by dirt, you can re-glue it using heat with a heat gun or simply a hairdryer. If the original adhesive has weakened, we recommend applying a new adhesive such as super glue gel for small repairs or our adhesion spray for large surfaces.
To apply the PRIMER, clean the surface thoroughly and apply the product with a brush or roller. If you prefer a smoother finish, you can thin it with water. It is mainly used on porous materials and in surface repairs. Allow to dry completely before applying the coating. If you need more information, do not hesitate to ask.
If the adhesive has been weakened by dirt, clean the area with a clean, dry cloth before repositioning the vinyl. If the original adhesive has been weakened, we recommend applying a new adhesive such as super glue gel for small repairs or our adhesion spray for large surfaces.
To apply the adhesive SPRAY, make sure the surface is clean and dry. Shake the container well before use. Apply the spray evenly at a distance of about 20-30 cm from the surface. Allow to dry for a few minutes until it becomes tacky before placing the material. If necessary, repeat the application for greater adhesion.
You can apply a layer of putty to cover the surface gaps before applying the cladding or use our 3mm thick PVC for wall levelling.
PVC sheets must be glued using a strong adhesive specific for PVC Vinyl Covering and ensuring that the surface is clean and dry. It is recommended to apply vertical strips every 10/15cm and one around the perimeter.
Joints should be sealed with a suitable two-component sealant or covered with our joining profiles for a uniform finish.
It is advisable to smooth out the seams or apply a primer before laying the cladding to achieve a more uniform finish. However, if the seams are fine, the texture of the material can help to disguise them effectively, especially compared to smoother finishes, which tend to highlight irregularities. In this way, a good result can be achieved without the need for extensive preparation.
Yes, vinyl can be applied directly to painted surfaces, as long as they are dry and clean.
Yes, you can install it on walls with gotelé or imperfections, but it is advisable to smooth the surface before installation. This process can be complex, as the application of heat is required to extract the air and ensure that the material fits correctly to the surface. Although the texture of the coating can help to conceal small irregularities, a more uniform and smooth finish will guarantee a better result. Ideally, use our 3 mm PVC sheets to smooth surfaces before installation. These sheets provide a uniform and firm base, eliminating imperfections such as gotelé or imperfections on surfaces. Its installation is simple and guarantees that the coating adheres optimally, offering a more durable and professional finish.
Yes, you can use heat to make the material conform to complex curves. This process requires extra subfloor preparation and advanced installation knowledge.
It is not recommended to place hot pots directly on the vinyl, but if this happens in exceptional cases it will not be damaged.
It is preferable not to cut food directly on the vinyl to avoid damage. We recommend using a cutting board.
Yes, vinyl is resistant to moderate heat and water, but it is not recommended to use it on surfaces that are constantly exposed to high temperatures, for example, fireplaces and barbecue backs.
To ensure a proper seal, use a waterproof silicone sealant on the top and bottom seams.
In most cases, yes, it is recommended to remove these elements for proper installation.
Vinyl is heat resistant on the back of the ceramic hob, but it is better to protect it in areas of direct contact with gas hobs.
If the vinyl causes the door to rub, carefully trim away excess material or adjust the door with wood planes so that it does not rub.
Yes, vinyl flooring can cover joints, but it is recommended that the joints are kept to a minimum for an optimal finish. You can apply a layer of putty to cover any surface seams before laying the flooring.
Vinyl coverings with more durable and resistant finishes, such as those with high resistance to water and heat, are ideal for countertops with more textured series such as KM and KW.
For bathrooms, we recommend all vinyls as they are waterproof and moisture resistant.
With careful installation and the use of suitable adhesives, the joints should not be very visible, especially if you choose a texture, which will help to conceal the joints. For more information, see the Tutorials section.
References with matte or textured finishes are usually more resistant to scratches and marks.
